Well, it's nice to have a graphical interface like ExplorerXP has. It's easier than copying hundreds, thousands, even tens of thousands of files with the Copy or XCopy command on the commandline.

yeah your right I prefer to use some sort of filemanager to copy files, its a long time since ive done backup with the copy command, im pretty sure that at the time it meant that i ended up changing things to 8.3 characters but mostly it was fine becaue it wasnt much that had to be copied before i reformated and reinstalled 98se

i wouldnt even think about copying 1000s of files with copy/xcopy probably

There is no need for a new release yet, as there will be no new features and/or bugfixes. Milestone 3 will be released when the new shell is Alpha quality. It is currently not even to that stage yet.

I am proud to announce that Nookota Project has been taken out of feature lock, and has been reset. Nookota used to be based off of Windows PE 3.0. I found that way too complicated and too much of a resource hog for such a simple project. So, with that being said, I reset Nookota, and instead based it off of Windows PE 1.2, which is available to download in the Windows XP Service Pack 2 OEM Preinstallation Kit (OPK). It is both quicker to load, and has a lower impact on system RAM. I promised that Nookota would be Alpha-quality software when i found or wrote a halfway-decent shell. But, with Windows PE 3.0, i could not accomplish this due to lack of features. In Windows PE 1.2, I have Explorer running successfully, and in my tests, has proven to be very stable. Nookota Project Alpha 1 should be due out within the next week or two, once i resolve some dependencies, and find a lightweight web browser for it.
