Enable Natural Language Search in Windows 7

Postby computerwizkid on 27 Jan 2010, 00:55

In Windows 7, you can enable the use of natural language searches. Natural language search, in case you do not know already, allows to search using more standard, natural entries. For example, if you type "pictures taken last week", the pictures you took last week will be displayed. Windows Search supports this in Windows 7 (Vista also but hasn't been confirmed yet, but I will test it later when I boot into Vista). Ask.com also supports it.

To enable it in Windows 7, type "folder options" into the start search box in the start menu. Click the search tab. In "How to Search", check the box called "Use natural language search". To test it, type "email sent from 'person who has sent you recently'".
